We are the A.Guimarães family. The fifth generation of a story that began in the nineteenth century, from the entrepreneurial and pioneer spirit of our founders.
A.Guimarães family's story started at the end of the nineteenth century. Coming from Portugal, our ancestors settled in the city of Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais. Nearly a hundred years later, in 1899, Lázaro Guimarães' wife gave birth to the twins who set our generations' course to the incessant search for innovation and excellence in all we do.
The twins Francisco Pedro Guimarães and Pedro Francisco Guimarães, considered two great entrepreneurs in the region, created the company "Guimarães Irmãos", being responsible for exploring the Cerrado Mineiro and trading big amounts of cattle. Due to their constant concern about the development of the region, they actively participated in the foundation of the city of Guimarânia.

The entrepreneurial heritage is passed on through the generations.
In 1919, Valdemar Guimarães was born. The son of Pedro Francisco Guimarães, who inherited his father's entrepreneurial spirit to thrive and develop the agriculture in the region. In 1949, Valdemar got married to Geni, our beloved grandmother. Years later, their union bore fruit. In the year of 1950, our patriarch Adauto Guimarães was born.

Formed by a couple's enthusiasm and passion for agriculture, independency and will to thrive.
In 1978, Adauto Guimarães and Beatriz Souza Guimarães were newly married and decided to build their lives independently. The great challenge of always moving forward and perpetuating a legacy in agriculture that had nearly 100 years was what motivated Adauto Guimarães to face the hardships life laid down upon him.
Slowly, he developed and sought new ways of producing and expanding his business, opening up to new sectors through cattle and cereal farming, investing in the acquisition of machinery and implements and in boosting productivity.

Driven by the constant search for the assurance that our legacy will be perpetuated and provide conscious growth.
With their family as a primary concern, in 1985, the couple decided to move to the city of Patrocínio, in the heart of the Cerrado Mineiro, looking for a better education for their first son, Ricardo Souza Guimarães. Beatriz, Adauto's right arm, did all the administrative work in their business.
With almost 150 years of history, our greatest challenge remains. To ensure the thriving of our legacy in agriculture and perpetuating our entrepreneurial and pioneer spirit through the conscious growth. The succession and protection of our legacy combined with long term thinking is what shapes us toward a safer future.
Since their youth, Adauto and Beatriz' sons were encouraged to participate in the managing process of the farms. And thanks to their parents' efforts, they created bonds with the family business and saw the value in working to produce and in being an entrepreneur.

Which developed and valued itself through the union of the fifth generation and its capacity to innovate and expand the legacy through its next generations.
It was in 2003 that the fifth generation started settling in the business, with the return of the eldest son Ricardo, recently graduated in Agronomy and charged with helping his father with the production of cereals. A few years later, in 2007, Rogério, also recently graduated in Agronomy, took over the administrative role of the business.
Finally, in 2010, with the return of the youngest son, the fifth generation was completely in the A.Guimarães family business. Francisco, recently graduated in Law, engages in the first coffee plantations on Lavrinha Farm. This encouraged him to join a Coffee Farming Technology course, from which he graduated in 2015.
